Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy had back surgery to address a lumbar disc herniation, the team announced Thursday. Here’s what you need to know:
Vasilevskiy is expected to miss the first two months of the season.
In 2022-23, Vasilevskiy went 34-22-4 with a 2.65 goals against average and .915 save percentage. His 34 wins rank fifth in his nine NHL seasons.
The Lightning finished 46-30-6 last season before losing to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs.
