The Columbus Blue Jackets hired Mark Recchi as an assistant coach, the team announced Monday. Here’s what you need to know:
Recchi served as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2017 to 2020 and with the New Jersey Devils from 2020 to 2022.
As an NHL forward, Recchi played for the Penguins (1988 to 1992, 2005 to 2008), Philadelphia Flyers (1992 to 1995, 1998 to 2004), Montreal Canadiens (1994 to 1999), Carolina Hurricanes (2005-06), Atlanta Thrashers (2007-08), Tampa Bay Lightning (2008-09) and Boston Bruins (2009 to 2011). He won three Stanley Cups as a player.
