Jets prospect Ville Heinola expected to miss 2-3 months after fracturing left ankle

Rick Bowness went from raving about Ville Heinola’s play at Winnipeg Jets camp Thursday morning to saying “It’s not a short-term injury” Thursday night. Now the news is official: Heinola will miss between eight and 12 weeks with a fractured left ankle after colliding awkwardly with Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Brannstrom on Thursday in Winnipeg.
