Jets sign Mark Scheifele, Connor Hellebuyck to 7-year extensions with $8.5 million AAV

The Winnipeg Jets signed forward Mark Scheifele and goalie Connor Hellebuyck to seven-year contract extensions, the team announced Monday. Here’s what you need to know:

The identical deals carry an average annual value of $8.5 million and will begin in the 2024-25 season.
Scheifele, 30, notched a career-high 42 goals last season for the Jets, his 10th full season with the team.
Hellebuyck, 30, was a finalist for the Vezina Trophy last season in which he started in 64 games, and posted four shutouts and a 0.92 save percentage.
