QMJHL officially bans fighting; will result in automatic ejection with possible suspension

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has officially banned fighting beginning with the upcoming season, the league announced Thursday. Here’s what you need to know:

The league’s rules state anyone engaged in a fight will be ejected from the game.
Any player “found to have instigated the fight” will get an automatic one-game suspension. The player “declared to be the aggressor during the fight” will receive a minimum two-game automatic suspension.
